IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT GTMHP [Click/Press to Toggle View]
If you are affected by this change, email us at email@example.com and we will hold off on the transition while emails continue to arrive.
GTMHP.COM is transitioning to secure-only https SSL/TLS communication. Currently https://gtmhp.com and http://gtmhp.com are the exact same program but http:// does not use an encrypted Internet connection. If you use any GTMHP custom configuration options or data storage that you have made using http:// that is not the same as that stored using an https:// access.
If you have been coming to GTMHP using the secure URL https://gtmhp.com you can ignore this notice.
However, if you have been using GTMHP via http:// AND you have made any custom data storage or configuration changes you need to transfer that information to the https:// access. This is easily accomplished using the "Options" button and then "Backup/Restore Your Settings and Data. There you can choose "Backup" and copy your current Configuration/Options settings to the clipboard. Then go to https://gtmhp.com and perform the same steps but choosing the Restore Your Data path and paste the http:// settings into the window there.
After that just remember to go to the https://gtmhp.com in the future.
Note that not all of the configuration changes will be saved. Some, such as button sizes, are chosen for the specific devices (e.g. phone/pad/notebook/desktop) and those are not saved/restored. You may have to reset a few things to your non-default choices.
At some point after we feel all users have made the transition we will make the change that both the http:// and https:// use the same https:// version and those configuration options.
For any one coming here as besthomepage.com you should consider copuing your settings and storing them at https://gtmhp.com and switching to that entry for now. At some point in the future we will point besthomepage.com to the https site.
Lock WEB SITES / NOTES / TOOLS The WEB SITES, MY NOTES, and TOOLS sections are normally toggled such that only the most recent selection of those three is visible. That may be desirable to save screen area, especially on mobile devices. On full-size screens you may wish to "Lock" the visibility of any frequently used sections. When a section is "Locked" only a specific Up-Arrow "Close" of that section will remove it from the screen.
Select Button Size Choose GTMHP button sizes to match your device and personal preferences. "Standard" size is intended to be workable on mouse/touchpad and most TouchScreen devices. The "Large" size buttons might be preferred on some TouchScreen devices. The "Mouse" selection uses smaller buttons that allow more content on the screen but are not well-suited for most TouchScreen devices.
Your current selection, shown in green, will be retained for the current device.
Canned WEB SITES Default Display Format You may choose to display the "canned" WEB SITES in two different ways.
List Will start each sub-topic on a new line, which makes the selections easier to navigate but uses more vertical screen space.
Spread will attempt to use the full screen width by adding subtopics to each line if space for all that subtopic sites is available. Depending upon your display width and the number of subtopic sites this may conserve vertical screen space.
Your current selection, shown in green, will be retained for the current device.
You can overide the default display and make temporary changes to the current sub-topic display selection by using the small white left/right arrows that appear on the far right side of the Main Web Site Topic Selector line.
